Perfection: something people spend years or even lifetimes trying to attain. Through the back half of this year, indie wrestler and backyard wrestling icon Matt Demorest has been chasing the perfect opponent. One last worthy adversary to give him the fight of his career for his final match. While Matt has tried twice now to have this career defining finale, both times he has come out both victorious and unfulfilled in his quest. However, at Sean Henderson Presents: To Be Loved, another challenger takes a step up to the plate to fulfill this quest for perfection. And that challenger’s name is Marcus Mathers.
Marcus Mathers

Arguably the star pupil of Matt Tremont’s H2O Academy, “The Young Prodigy” has already racked up one hell of a 2022. After starting the year with a win over Anthony Greene, Marcus has gone on to face the likes of Masha Slamovich, Mike Bailey, Nick Wayne, and former IWTV Champion, AC Mack. A win here would be yet another notch on this impressive talent’s equally impressive year in wrestling. With his ever-expanding talents at such a young age, Marcus may just might have what it takes to take Matt Demorest to his much coveted nirvana.
Matt Demorest

Matt Demorest initially retired in 2021 due to a series of intense injuries. Demorest had seen action in companies like Chikara, GCW, Limitless Wrestling and even the backyard (having even faced a young Alex Zayne). To the surprise of many, Demorest resurfaced this past June with a victory over Billie Starkz at Sean Henderson Presents. Two months later, he would once again take to the ring against H2O student Dyln McKay. Going into this match, Matt made his intentions clear: he wanted to have that one match to bring him to Valhalla and close out his career. Once again came out the winner and post match he doubled down that he wants a perfect opponent to defeat him.

Just under four months removed from Matt’s last match, here we are again with another chance of perfection. Will this be the one to finally put Matt Demorest to rest? Or will Matt continue on his quest seeking out that perfect final match? It all goes down on Friday, December 2nd at 7:30 PM EST on IWTV.
