This week’s front page news has shocked much of the Deathmatch world. Seemingly out of nowhere, Drew Parker has confirmed that he will be wrapping up his time as a Deathmatch wrestler. Parker took to his Twitter to share a screenshot of a recent Instagram post. In the post, Drew explains that this decision had been in the making for a while and that his upcoming match against John Wayne Murdoch for GCW in Atlantic City will likely be his final Deathmatch.

While he may be leaving Deathmatch Wrestling, Drew Parker has everything to be proud of. Over the past two years alone, Drew Parker has had one of the greatest runs in the scene; a run that many could only dream of. From June of 2021 to now, Drew has won two major Deathmatch tournaments: BJW’s Ikkitousen Deathmatch Survivor 2021 and GCW’s Tournament of Survival 7. Drew has also raked in his share of championship gold, holding the King of FREEDOM World Championship, the GCW Ultraviolent Championship, and the BJW Deathmatch Heavyweight Championship twice; a feat that journalist Álex Giménez has dubbed the “[Ultraviolent] Grand Slam.” Top Rope Writing thanks Drew Parker for the hours of incredible ultraviolent action he brought to the genre.
