ICW No Holds Barred & RISE Reschedule Games of Death Weekend

We start this week’s edition on less than ceremonial circumstances. For weeks now, ICW No Holds Barred has been hyping up their return to England in conjuncture with RISE Underground to present Games of Death 2023. Unfortunately, it seems that these plans will have to be put on hold for the time being. In a press release, it was announced that Games of Death Weekend has been postponed to December 1st and 2nd from its originally scheduled May 27th and 28th dates. The reason provided for the postponement is due to a legal matter brought up due to “…failure to provide adequate warning of the risks associated with attending [the events].” The events in question were ICW/RISE’s weekend of shows in England back in February. Much more unfortunately, RISE Underground will not be able to “run deathmatches in the UK” amid all of this legal action, which is surely a blow for UK’s Deathmatch talents and fans alike. RISE also clarified per the press release that tickets purchased for the original dates will still be honored for December, and that refunds will be issued if attendees are not able to come to Games of Death.

While this is a very unfortunate situation, both companies are attempting to make lemonade out of these lemons that they have been dealt. Per the press release, RISE Underground will still make good on hosting a show on May 27th at The Welly in Hull, East Yorkshire, England. And ICW No Holds Barred has since confirmed that they will be hosting a new event; NHB 46: Rollin’ With The Punches, live from the H2O Wrestling Center in Williamstown, New Jersey on May 27th as well. Tickets for NHB 46 will go on sale on April 18th at 3 PM EST, while RISE will allow admittance to any GOD Weekend ticketholders free of charge. You can follow ICW on Twitter for updates on NHB 46 and their eventual return to England.
