This Week in Death: NJPW, FREEDOMS, CZW, Danny Darko & Neil Diamond Cutter

CZW Announces Tournament of Death XX

Combat Zone Wrestling has confirmed the twentieth edition of one of the American Deathmatch scene’s most seminal tournaments of the year: Tournament of Death. Last year’s edition marked the first Tournament of Death to be held since 2019 and it now appears that TOD will be returning to yearly operation. While last year’s tournament was won by “The Deathmatch Enforcer” Bobby Beverly, the tournament has also netted winners like Jun Kasai, Matt Tremont, Nick Gage, and Danny Havoc amongst other notorious Deathmatch names. CZW’s Tournament of Death XX will take place on September 23rd in Delaware. Tickets are not yet available, but you can follow CZW on Twitter for updates.

Danny Darko Returning to the United States; Making CZW Debut

Combat Zone Wrestling has confirmed that England’s Danny Darko will be making his CZW debut next month at Disaster Piece: Twisted Metal. This announcement also marks Danny Darko’s return to the United States. The last time Danny Darko was in the United States was during Faces of Death Weekend in New Jersey this past Spring. Danny Darko will be entering the yard alongside the likes of Remington Rhor, Lucky 13, and current MLW double champion: AKIRA. Tickets for Disaster Piece: Twisted Metal are available now and you can follow Combat Zone Wrestling on Twitter for updates.

NDC/Sakuda II Scheduled for D.I.E. in Japan

In a previous edition of This Week in Death, we confirmed that Neil Diamond Cutter would be debuting in Japan for Deathmatch Innovative Element (D.I.E.) this month. It has now been confirmed that Neil Diamond Cutter will be competing against Toshiyuki Sakuda in a Worldwide Ultraviolence Needle of Heaven Deathmatch. This encounter will be a rematch as the first time these two shared the ring was at H2O Wrestling here in the United States; Neil coming out victorious over Sakuda. Now, Neil Diamond Cutter is coming into Sakuda’s backyard. Can The Honey Badger go 2-0 on The Psychopath Boy in his home country?
