AKIRA & Remington Rhor to Make BJW Debuts
Big Japan Pro-Wrestling has announced a foreign presence for their upcoming event on September 17th at Shin-Kiba 1stRING in Tokyo, Japan. Returning to BJW are US alumni Necro Butcher, and the original Baka Gaijin: Mad Man Pondo. However, coming along with this duo on their journey across the Pacific are two men making not just their Big Japan debuts, but also their debuts in Japan as a whole: AKIRA and Remington Rhor. Remington Rhor has worked to make a name for himself; currently holding the AWR Revolutionary Championship and having shared the ring with the likes of Mickie Knuckles, HoodFoot and Eric Ryan. AKIRA’s name has only grown in the past year as he’s captured both the MLW Middleweight & Tag Team Championships only months after signing to the company. No doubt that this is a big opportunity for both men as they make their maiden voyage to Japan. And you can follow Big Japan on Twitter for updates.
Bracket Confirmed for Circle 6’s (sic)est of the six
As announced in the previous edition of This Week in Death, Circle 6 will be hosting their first ever Deathmatch Tournament with (sic)est of the six. And now, just one week later, not only do we have confirmation of all six competitors entering the Tournament, but we also have a full bracket for (sic)est of the six (something I believe is sorely missing from modern Deathmatch Tournaments). At (sic)est of the six, you will see the following combatants in competition:
- Dale Patricks (IWA Mid South Prince of the Deathmatches 2015 Winner, WrestleRave Death Triad I Winner)
- AKIRA (IWA East Coast Masters of Pain 2021 Winner, AWR Asylum Deathmatch Torunament 2021 Winner)
- Otis Cogar (AWR Asylum Deathmatch Torunament 2022 Semi-Finalist, CZW Tournament of Death 19 Entrant)
- Deklan Grant (H2O Hardcore Kingdom V Winner & Tremont’s Tag Team Deathmatch Tournament Finalist)
- Orin Veidt (ICW Milwaukee Insane 8 2018 & 2019 Winner)
- Remington Rhor (AWR Asylum Deathmatch Torunament 2022 Winner)
By the looks of the bracket, the Tournament’s format will be quite unique. The first round will feature the six entrants in three Singles Deathmatches, as well as one Last Chance Triple Threat Deathmatch for one last opportunity to pass to the Semi-Finals. From there, it will be a traditional Semi-Finals and Finals to crown the (sic)est of the six. And of course, all Tournament matches will feature individual stipulations. Circle 6’s (sic)est of the six will go down at Reggies in Chicago, Illinois on September 1st. Tickets are available now and you can follow Circle 6 on Twitter for updates.
