This Week in Death: FREEDOMS, Violento Jack, Joel Bateman, D.I.E., RPW & ISDub

At Pro Wrestling FREEDOMS’ recent event at Yokohama Budokan saw a King of FREEDOM World Championship clash between Soul Meat. Champion Tomoya Hirata would defend the title against challenger and partner, Toru Sugiura. In the end, we have a new KFC Champion in Toru Sugiura. This victory also makes Sugiura a Double Champion as he is also a co-holder of the King of FREEDOM World Tag Team Championships. However, on the negative side of things, the match itself ended in a Referee’s Stoppage due to an injury that Tomoya Hirata sustained in the matchup. Toru Sugiura took to Twitter to express that he will hold onto the KFC Title in Hirata’s absence so that the duo could have a proper Championship Matchup once Hirata is recovered. In victory, Toru Sugiura ended Tomoya Hirata’s 141 day reign as King of FREEDOM World Championship on his fourth defense. Sugiura also begins his second reign with the KFC Championship; his first being the longest recorded reign at 643 days as KFC Champion. Top Rope Writing would like to congratulate Toru Sugiura on this milestone, as well as wish Tomoya Hirata the best in his recovery from injury.
