Drew Parker Retires from Wrestling Following Last Ever Deathmatch with Clint Margera
Over this past weekend, Drew Parker would resurface in TNT Extreme to face off against TNT Extreme Division Champion: Clint Margera. The two would clash at TNT’s Summer Explosion, following Parker’s hiatus to return to the United Kingdom to attend to family matters. The match itself was billed as Drew Parker’s Last Ever Deathmatch as he originally departed from Deathmatch Wrestling back in May during a Pro Wrestling FREEDOMS event. However, this matchup would turn out to be Drew Parker’s last match period a following the encounter, Drew would announce his retirement from Professional Wrestling as a whole.
While the news of one of the finest young talents in the worlds of Wrestling and Deathmatch is rather sad, Drew is walking out on the highest of notes. From 2021 to this year alone, Drew Parker racked up a ludicrous list of accolades to his name. He became the only Gaijin to win Big Japan Pro-Wrestling’s Ikkitousen Deathmatch Survivor Tournament back in 2021. In the span of months, Parker held both of Japan’s most prestigious Deathmatch Championships: BJW’s Deathmatch Heavyweight Championship and FREEDOMS’ King of FREEDOM World Championship. And here in America, Drew pulled off one hell of a run; winning GCW’s Tournament of Survival VII as well as the GCW Ultraviolent Championship. In terms of Deathmatch runs, Drew Parker’s ranks high up there with “Sick” Nick Mondo’s in terms of leaving a big mark on the genre in such a short period. Top Rope Writing would like to thank Drew Parker once again for giving himself to Deathmatch Wrestling as he has, and wish him the very best in his future beyond the ring.
