This Week in Death: CZW TOD XX, GCW, ICWNHB, FREEDOMS & TDMT 4

Over this past weekend, Combat Zone Wrestling was originally scheduled to host the twentieth edition of the American Deathmatch staple: Tournament of Death. However, due to inclimate weather in the Townsend, Delaware area, CZW decided to postpone the traditionally outdoor event. The new date for Tournament of Death XX is now set for October 7th. While original entrant Kidd Bandit had to withdraw from the tournament due to injury (and we wish her the very best in her recovery), confirmed for TOD XX are the following First Round Matchups:

  1. Drunken Taipei Deathmatch: Bobby Beverly vs Mickie Knuckles
  2. Pits of Hell Deathmatch: Judge Joe Dread vs Big F’n Joe
  3. Brain Damage CTE Deathmatch: SHLAK vs Eric Ryan
  4. Orin Veidt vs ???

You can follow CZW on Twitter for updates as we approach Tournament of Death XX.

During Game Changer Wrestling’s recent tour of Germany alongside wXw, the GCW Ultraviolent Championship was defended for the first time on German soil. Current Ultraviolent Champion Rina Yamashita first defeated GCW mainstay Jimmy Lloyd at Long. Live. GCW. to retain the belt. She then defeated England’s Lou Nixon in an international Deathmatch to retain once again at GCW vs The World. These two victories mark Rina’s twelfth and thirteenth title defenses of her Championship reign. These defenses also mark the third country outside of the United States that Rina has defended the belt (including England and her native Japan). Congratulations to Rina Yamashita for this impressive milestone as Champion!
