This Week in Death: Champions Roundup, Uncharted Territory, GCW & Battle of the Tough Guys


H2O Wrestling recently celebrated their two-hundredth event by hosting the aptly named H2O 200. At the event, it was announced that the promotion will be playing host to the fifth season of IWTV’s Uncharted Territory. For those who are unaware, Uncharted Territory is a weekly live show aired in Seasons that has typically revolved around different territories of Independent Wrestling in the United States. For the first three seasons, New England would carry the banner as Beyond Wrestling in Worcester, Massachusetts presented the show. Season Four was carried by the Southeast First banner of companies based out of the TWE Arena in Chattanooga, Tennessee. And now, it’s H2O Wrestling’s turn to carry Season Five, representing the Tri-State at the H2O Wrestling Center in Williamstown, New Jersey. Season Five of Uncharted Territory will kick off on November 6th live on IWTV, and you can follow IWTV for updates on the premiere episode.


Over a year after taking over the Hammerstein Ballroom in Manhattan, New York, Game Changer Wrestling is taking over yet another world famous wrestling venue. For the first time ever, GCW will be taking over Korakuen Hall in Tokyo, Japan as part of yet another tour for the company as GCW presents The WRLD on GCW. Recently announced as part of a stacked card, featuring bouts like Vikingo vs Gringo Loco, Rina Yamashita vs Masha Slammovich, and Jun Kasai vs Joey Janela is a defense of the GCW World Tag Team Championship. Champions Takashi Sasaki & Toru Sugiura will defend the belts for the first time since capturing them, as they face former Champions: Los Macizos (Ciclope & Miedo Extremo). ICW No Holds Barred has been announced to take part in The Wrestival on December 30th with two show slots to their name. For those unaware, The Wrestival is a days long block of shows (akin to The Collective) scheduled around New Year’s Eve/Day which brings together various promotions from all around the Indies. It has now been confirmed that both slots will be dedicated to the third installment of ICW No Holds Barred’s Battle of the Tough Guys. This will be the second straight year that Massachusetts has played host to Battle of the Tough Guys as the previous edition was held in Cambridge, Massachusetts in August of last year, and won by HoodFoot. While this is ICW’s third installment of the tournament, this year’s has been dubbed SPO’s Battle of the Tough Guys in honor of the late ICW Senior Official “SPO” Sean Patrick O’Brien.
