This Week in Death: NGI 8, Casanova Valentine, FREEDOMS, ICWNHB & King of the Deathmatches 2023


Pro Wrestling FREEDOMS is set to bring the ultraviolence to Nagoya Kokusai Center in Nagoya, Aichi, Japan as FREEDOMS presents Nagoya Bloodland 2023. Confirmed for Nagoya Bloodland 2023 are two big time title defenses. First, the Game Changer Wrestling Ultraviolent Championship will be defeated for the first time inside of a Pro Wrestling FREEDOMS ring, as Rina Yamashita defends her Championship against Daisuke Masaoka. Then, Toru Sugiura will make his fourth defense of the King of FREEDOM World Championship against five-time Champion: “The Crazy Monkey” Jun Kasai. As previously covered in This Week in Death, ICW No Holds Barred will be bringing the third edition of the Battle of the Tough Guys Tournament to Worcester, Massachusetts as part of The Wrestival. This event, dubbed SPO’s Battle of the Tough Guys, will span across two shows on December 30th (4 PM EST & 8 PM EST respectively). Leading off the announced competitors is last year’s winner and current ICW American Deathmatch World Champion: HoodFoot. Joining HoodFoot in this year’s tournament is the current NWA Jr. Heavyweight Champion: Colby Corino, and “The Intense Icon” Joshua Bishop. On December 30th, Circle 6 will present the twenty-first edition of an American Deathmatch staple, as they present King of the Deathmatches 2023. The company previously announced that they would be taking over the tournament from IWA Mid-South back in 2022. While the show has been announced for a few weeks now, we have confirmation of some of the competitors who will compete in this year’s King of the Deathmatches.
