This past weekend, Atticus Cogar lost a matchup at NHB 56 against the big boss of ICW No Holds Barred: Danny Demanto. Per the conditions of the matchup, Atticus Cogar would have to commit to working for ICW if he were to lose. This announcement will also mark Atticus Cogar’s debut in the UK. This tour will coincide with the 2024 Games of Death Tournament being held by RISE Underground. Deathmatch Discovery Gauntlet Week 6 & 7
We’ve arrived at the finish line as we’ve reached the final two weeks of the Deathmatch Discovery Gauntlet. Entering these last two weeks, our sole gauntlet runners have been Anthraxx with three successful victories (Alex Stretch, Chris Bradley and Mouse), and Kristian Ross with two (Anthraxx and Tarzan Duran). Week 6 saw a change up in it’s regularly scheduled contest as Kristian Ross was not present and therefore unable to defend his spot in the Gauntlet. Starting fresh, we would see JB Anderson vie to return for the Season Finale against the carnivorous Remington Rhor. The weaponry adorning the ring was of a much more flesh carving fashion as we saw Barbed Wire adorned to a Chair, Boards and a Lattice Fence. Not to mention each man’s respective blade, with JB brandishing a Katana and Rhor wielding a Machete. After some swordplay, Rhor would muscle into control with a Cut-Can Bat and some loose Shards of Glass down Anderson’s shirt. Rhor would live up to his Carnivore name as he bit and cut into the gashed head of Anderson. Seeing red, Anderson would fight back and draw blood on Remington, slicing his forehead with a Katana. Anderson would take Rhor off his feet from the top rope and attempt to put Rhor through Barbed Wire Boards before succumbing to a Muscle Buster through the Boards by Rhor for the win. Post-match, Rhor calls Kristian Ross “bitch made” for calling him out and not showing up for the fight.
And with that, Remington Rhor is holding court in the Deathmatch Discovery Gauntlet as we come to the Season Finale of Uncharted Territory. Remington Rhor would be met not with the challenge of Kristian Ross, or even the challenge of Neil Diamond Cutter like the sound of Sweet Caroline implied, but rather Jimmy Chondo Lyon. Chondo would commence to shit talk Rhor in a ring full of Barbed Wire implements, Chairs, an upside down Ladder. Chondo would find himself firmly beaten out of the ring and around ringside. Rhor’s fist would firmly collide with the ring post and Chondo would make a short lived comeback with some wire. After some mauling with a Chain and Barbed Wire Chair by Rhor, Chondo would come back with a Low Blow and DDT onto the Wire. Rhor would throw Chondo’s spine out of alignment with a couple well placed slams onto Opened Chairs. Rhor would firmly shut Chondo up with a well placed Powerbomb through an upside down ladder for the final win in the Deathmatch Discovery Gauntlet. Post-match, Remington makes his intentions clear: he is taking Bam Sullivan’s H2O Danny Havoc Hardcore Championship at H2O’s Torn to Shreds.
Rina Yamashita Passes an Incredible Milestone as GCW Ultraviolent Champion
As someone who loves statistics (yet hates Math), I couldn’t help but notice something very impressive in the current Game Changer Wrestling Ultraviolent Championship reign of Rina Yamashita. As of posting, Rina Yamashita has held the Championship for 494 Days (and is set to close out the year with a reign totaling over 500 days). It’s one thing to surpass the longest title reign as she did 356 Days ago when she passed Alex Colon’s 138 Day reign. It’s an entirely different thing for Rina Yamashita to have held the belt longer than every Championship reign before her combined (a total of 490 Days). With the length of her reign, and the number of defenses she’s made late into the year, Rina Yamashita has cemented herself as one of the most dominant Champions in the World of Deathmatch Wrestling.
