If there ever was a Professional Wrestling promotion that personified the “Do It Yourself” (DIY) lifestyle, then the New York based New Fear City fits that bill perfectly. Helmed by “Brooklyn Black Death” Casanova Valentine, New Fear City is quite possibly the most unique promotion in the space of Professional Wrestling. Honestly, it’s quite hard to simply lump New Fear City strictly into the medium of Professional Wrestling. An NFC show will typically contain the likes of Go-Go Dancers, Hardcore and Metal bands, and of course the physical stylings of No Ring Deathmatch Wrestling. All of these flavors of entertainment come together to make for an unforgettable nightlife experience.
Each year during WrestleMania Weekend, New Fear City brings their special brand of entertainment to wherever the festivities are for one of the most unique shows of the week: MurderMania. Previous MurderManias have featured the likes of All Elite Wrestling’s Tony Nese, Deathmatch legend Mad Man Pondo, and FMW’s Leatherface. While MurderMania, like the typical New Fear City event, tends to take place in a dive bar setting, this year’s event, dubbed “Killadelphia” will emanate from undoubtedly the most distinct venue you’ll find throughout WrestleMania week. On April 5th, MurderMania Killadelphia will take place at FDR Skatepark in Philadelphia, PA.
For the uninitiated, FDR Skatepark is an iconic American Skatepark. This skatepark is located under an overpass on the Pennsylvania Interstate-95 highway and is iconized with various pieces of graffiti all along the park. FDR Skatepark was created out of necessity as Philadelphia city officials had become fed up with skateboarders using the city’s famous Love Park as a place to skateboard. With an underpass plot of land set aside, the city’s skate community would come together to build what would become FDR Park; making this a park by skaters, for skaters. Since FDR’s opening, the park has drawn a fair amount of pro skaters; most famously, Jackass star and Pennsylvania native: Bam Margera. The park has also been immortalized in video game form, most famously in Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 2, and later Tony Hawk’s Proving Ground.

I personally could not think of a better wrestling promotion to host an event at FDR Skatepark. Killadelphia will see the meeting of a DIY promotion like New Fear City, being held at FDR with it’s own DIY history. And it’s this uniqueness coming together that is making MurderMania Killadelphia feel like an absolute must see event during WrestleMania week. On top of it all, admission to see MurderMania is free, so there’s no reason not to be there live and in person. While no matchups have been announced as of posting, you can follow New Fear City on Twitter for updates as we near closer to MurderMania.
