This Week in Death: Ito & Kobayashi, H2O Wrestling, Games of Death III, FREEDOMS & BJW

On March 9th and 10th, Big Japan Pro-Wrestling legends Ryuji Ito & Abdullah Kobayashi make their returns to the United States for Game Changer Wrestling’s upcoming weekend of shows in Atlantic City, New Jersey. Both Ito & Kobayashi have their opponents confirmed for March 9th, as they face Nick Gage and Matt Tremont respectively. The next day on March 10th, both pillars of Big Japan will team up to face the staple of GCW’s Tag Team division: Los Macizos (Ciclope & Miedo Extremo) at GCW’s So Much Fun event. Tickets for this event, as well as the other offerings of the weekend are available now, and you can follow Game Changer Wrestling on Twitter for updates.

On February 17th, H2O Wrestling hosted Causing Havoc, featuring the Unlucky 13 Tournament. A tournament in which Bam Sullivan would defend his H2O Danny Havoc Hardcore Championship throughout. In an interesting turn of events, the Championship would change hands in the Semi-Finals, as Jimmy Lyon would defeat Bam Sullivan in an Unhealthy Choices Deathmatch to become the new H2O Danny Havoc Hardcore Champion. In victory, Jimmy Lyon ended Bam Sullivan’s second reign with the Championship at 203 days in his eighth defense as Champion.

If Jimmy Lyon wished to leave the H2O Wrestling Center as Champion, he would have to defeat fellow finalist: Neil Diamond Cutter, in an Electrified Lighttubes Deathmatch Finals. Ultimately, it would be Neil Diamond Cutter who would win both the Unlucky 13 Tournament, and the H2O Danny Havoc Hardcore Championship as he defeated Jimmy Lyon. In victory, Neil ended Jimmy Lyon’s reign as Champion in his first defense after mere minutes as Champion; making Jimmy Lyon officially the Shortest Reigning Champion in the title’s history. Congratulations to Neil Diamond Cutter for both accomplishments on the night!

Over the past weekend, as part of ICW No Holds Barred’s return to England, RISE Underground hosted their long awaited Games of Death 3 Tournament in Hull, England. Per Wrestling-News.Net, we can confirm that Big F’n Joe has won this year’s Games of Death Tournament. Big F’n Joe would defeat Michael Caden in the First Round before defeating the United States’ Atticus Cogar & Kruel in a Three-Way Deathmatch Finals. With this victory, Big F’n Joe becomes the only person to win both of England’s top Deathmatch Tournaments (RISE’s Games of Death & TNT Extreme’s DOA Tournament). Congratulations to Big F’n Joe on this big tournament win!

On February 8th, Pro Wrestling FREEDOMS took to Korakuen Hall in Tokyo, Japan for Go Beyond the Limit 2024. In the Main Event, Masashi Takeda would successfully defend the King of FREEDOM World Championship for the first time in his current title reign. Takeda defeated Takayuki Ueki in a Barefoot Lighttubes & Thumbtacks Deathmatch to retain the King of FREEDOM World Championship. In victory, Takeda would also pick up another “Championship” as he also won the Barefoot King “Title Belt”. As of posting, no new Contenders have been named.

Further down the Pro Wrestling FREEDOMS calendar, we already have an event date confirmed for September. On September 15th, Pro Wrestling FREEDOMS returns to Yokohama Budokan in Yokohama, Japan to celebrate the company’s 15th Anniversary. Tickets for this 15th Anniversary event are available now, and you can follow Pro Wrestling FREEDOMS on Twitter for updates.

Big Japan Pro-Wrestling has two tours coming up for the months of April and May. And with this announcement, BAKA GAIJIN will embark on another campaign to Japan. Much like before, Mad Man Pondo & Necro Butcher will be coming overseas with a regiment of American wrestlers to take on the best that Big Japan has to offer. In April, Pondo & Necro will be traveling abroad with KOBK’s Hardway Heeter, and “The Deathmatch Jackass” Dale Patricks. The following month, Pondo & Necro will travel alongside Toby Farley, “The Young Prodigy” Marcus Mathers, and England’s Big F’n Joe.
